Service & process:

What services does APMS offer?

APMS provides asphalt paving and overlays, asphalt sealcoating, asphalt crack repair and sealing, asphalt patching and repair, parking lot striping and pavement marking, and multi-year asphalt maintenance plans for commercial and residential properties.

Where does APMS work in Nebraska?

APMS serves Lincoln, Omaha, Beatrice, Seward, York, and Nebraska City, plus the surrounding service areas. We’re based in Lincoln and have been working across Nebraska since 1988.

Do you do residential and commercial work?

Both. We do residential driveways and homeowner sealcoating, plus commercial parking lots, churches, schools, retail, hospitality, and government work.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Call or fill out the contact form and we’ll come measure the job, walk you through what’s needed, and give you a no-obligation quote.

Education & expectations:

How long does asphalt sealcoating last?

On a commercial parking lot, a quality sealcoat lasts 2–3 years before it needs to be redone, depending on traffic and weather. Residential driveways often go 3–5 years between sealcoats.

When Is the best time of year for sealcoating in Nebraska?

Late spring through early fall. We need consistent daytime temps above 50°F and dry pavement for at least 24 hours after application. We typically sealcoat May through September.

How long does new asphalt take to cure before I can drive on it?

You can drive on new asphalt within 24–48 hours. For full cure (where heavy vehicles or sharp turns won’t leave marks), give it 30 days. We’ll walk you through specifics for your project.

How often should I sealcoat my parking lot or driveway?

Every 2–3 years for commercial parking lots, every 3–5 years for residential driveways. The first sealcoat should happen 6–12 months after a new asphalt installation, once the surface has fully cured.

What Is the difference between sealcoating and an asphalt overlay?

Sealcoating is a thin protective layer over existing asphalt — it extends the life of your pavement and restores the black finish. An overlay is a new layer of asphalt (2–3 inches) applied over a worn surface that’s still structurally sound. Sealcoating is maintenance; overlay is a renewal.

Practical:

What weather do you need for sealcoating or paving?

Dry pavement, no rain in the forecast for 24 hours, and daytime temperatures above 50°F (above 60°F for sealcoating to cure properly). We’ll reschedule weather days, no charge.

Will I need to clear my parking lot or driveway during the work?

Yes. We’ll coordinate timing with you before the project begins, and the area being worked on will need to remain clear during the process and while the asphalt or sealcoat cures. The exact downtime depends on the type of work being performed. We work closely with homeowners, businesses, and property managers to minimize disruption and keep projects moving efficiently.

Trust & credentials:

How long has APMS been in business, and are you BBB accredited?

APMS has been serving Nebraska since 1988 — 38+ years. We’re BBB Accredited with an A+ rating, locally owned, and family-operated.

What is included in an APMS Asphalt Maintenance Plan?

A multi-year plan that schedules your sealcoating, crack repair, patching, and striping on a recurring cycle — so your asphalt gets maintenance at the right intervals instead of all at once when something goes wrong. Lower lifetime cost than reactive repairs. We custom-fit the plan to your property’s age, traffic, and condition.
